ATV crash closes Roseland Road in Aberdeen, CPR given at scene

Roseland Road was closed Sunday afternoon after a 21-year-old man riding a 4-wheeler collided into a tree near Spring Meadows Drive.

Firefighters from Pinebluff Fire Department arrived at the scene within minutes, and immediately started CPR on the rider. Other first responders from Aberdeen Fire, N.C. Highway Patrol, and Moore County EMS continued CPR for at least 20 minutes. The rider was loaded into an ambulance, and taken to Moore Regional Hospital.

The crash happened not far from the man’s home. Family and friends came to the scene while emergency crews worked to save his life.

According to investigators, the rider hit a ditch on the side of Roseland Road, lost control, and struck the tree.

Officials tell Moore County News that the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

At the time of publication, there is no update on his condition.

Roseland Road was closed in both directions while the scene was investigated and cleared.
